| Responsibilities: |
Tyco Electronics is deploying a global SAP System throughout most of its operations. All of the design, configuration and development of SAP is done by a globally dispersed team of Tyco employees, reporting to the Director of Global ERP Systems. This Core Team is organized by SAP functional module, with other separate groups dedicated to technical support (BASIS and ALE), and to the creation of training material. Each Core Team functional group has both SAP Analysts and SAP Developers.

| Qualifications: |
1) Determine Business Requirements - Meet with users and management to define complex business requirements in sufficient detail to determine the appropriate SAP configuration or development required, or to document why the requirement cannot be satisfied by an SAP-based solution.
- Document the requirements with process maps, input and output requirements and business benefits.
- Coordinate the activity of other SAP analysts to ensure complete requirements are defined
2) Design SAP-based Business Systems - Independently evaluate alternative solutions to business requirements and document a recommended design.
- Provide an estimate of the cost and risk of an SAP solution.
- Recommend ABAP or other programming enhancements when no SAP solution is possible
3) Configure the SAP System - Translate complex business requirements into SAP configuration with only occasional help from other team members and consultants.
- Document the SAP configuration required if complex or unique.
- Enter, test and migrate the required SAP configuration to production.
- Obtain resolution to problems when required via the OSS facility
4) Prepare Development Specifications - Document the required functionality, input and output for ABAP programs.
- Provide oversight to the ABAP developer to ensure requirements are understood and that a well-designed, efficient and supportable solution is developed.
- Provide unit test scenarios and test data for the ABAP developer.
5) Test the SAP System, Enhancements and Add-ons - Provide integrated test scenarios across all related processes reflecting the business requirements.
- Test, or help others to test the system, documenting the results.
- Investigate and resolve test problems, coordinating the activities of others as required.
6) Support Data Mapping From Legacy Systems - Develop and maintain mapping documents which define requirements for legacy system data to be loaded into SAP.
- Communicate and explain mapping documents to local IS organizations creating extracts.
- Review extract files to ensure they comply with the mapping specifications.
- Verify extracted data is correctly loaded into SAP consistent with the intended mapping
7) Develop SAP Batch Jobs, UNIX Scripts and Variants - Define batch processing requirements and interface requirements.
- Create the necessary SAP jobs, variants and Unix scripts.
- Support Operations in the creation of job schedules.
8) Provide Local Implementation Team Training - Create and modify training material with the assistance of the Training Team.
- Deliver training to a project’s local implementation team and to others as required.
- Ensure training material remains up to date as the SAP System changes.
9) Serve as a Project Leader When Required - Provide coordination of Core Team resources, providing a single point of contact for Project Management and Core Team Management on implementation projects.
- Provide technical, training and communications requirements to Project Management and Core Team Management on implementation projects.
- Oversee the work of other Core Team members to ensure its accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop project plans for small and medium size projects and execute those plans.
10) Provide Support for the Production System - Coordinate the resolution with Operations, BASIS, and other Core Team members as required.
- Respond to urgent problems outside normal working hours when on-call.
- Recommend changes to the System to improve availability and performance.
- Apply OSS notes, hot packs and upgrades and participate in testing those changes.
Position Qualifications/Competencies - Required Required: - Minimum of 5 years of related work, either within an IS organization or as a user of SAP systems.
- In-depth knowledge of discreet manufacturing business processes in at least one functional area.
- Consultant level knowledge in at least one SAP functional area.
- Good English as a second language, sufficient for telephone consulting, email, training, and documentation in English.
- Willingness to travel a minimum of two weeks per month when requested, for at least two years.
Preferred: - Ability to review SAP ABAP programs.
- SAP Certification in the area of Materials Management/Procurement.
Required Education Level: - University degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems – or any other university degree plus three years work experience within an IS organization.
